Get InvolvedGo on a Sierra Club Outing Sierra Club outings are a great way to meet others who care about the environment and to find out about local conservation issues while enjoying the great outdoors. Depending on where you are, you’ll be able to choose from day hikes, bicycling, cross-country skiing, bird-watching, conservation-oriented walks, or forays into the remaining natural areas of our major cities. There are many volunteer opportunities available through the Sierra Club. You can volunteer with your local group to help coordinate community programs, participate in conservation initiatives, or help recruit other volunteers. You can participate in river clean ups or water quality monitoring coordinated by Sierra Club Water Sentinels. You can volunteer at the Michigan Chapter office in Lansing to help with data entry, mailings, phone calls, and event outreach. Once you’ve participated in volunteer activities, you can contribute even more by leading activities and taking part in the planning and operation of your group or chapter. You can volunteer for a committee, lead outings, take photos for the Chapter or group newsletters, and more! Contact your local group directly or Chapter Administrative Assistant Cecilia J. Garcia at 517-484-2372 x1 to learn more.
Chapter internship opportunities change periodically. Right now, we have an opening for an Administrative/ Membership Intern (unpaid). Job duties would include research and development of displays, membership surveys, mailings, data entry, and other activities as needed. For more information, please contact Chapter Administrative Assistant Cecilia J. Garcia at 517-484-2372 x1. |
