About
the Political Committee
The SEMG Political Committee works to
protect and preserve the environment by identifying and endorsing
candidates supportive of a healthy environment, and by encouraging
all public officials to behave in an environmentally-responsible
manner.
Political Committee meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the
third Tuesday of each month (except for December, when there
is no meeting) at Jimi’s Restaurant, 714 S. Washington
Ave, in Royal Oak – one block north of Lincoln (10-1/2
Mile).
All are welcome!

SEMG
Sierra Club Liaison Program
The Liaison Program is designed to cultivate personal relationships
with targeted legislators in the SEMG district. Each voluntary
participant will maintain a file of communication with his
or her designated target. Using e-mail, phone calls and personal
meetings, we will get to know the legislators better. More
importantly, they will get to know you. We will use these
relationships to further our legislative agenda and shape
the Legislature into an environmentally friendly chamber.
This is a long-term project that may take years to bear the
desired fruit. But we can have fun with it as we follow the
paths of elected officials and trade stories of our efforts
each month at the Political Committee meeting.
